How to Measure at Home

A soft measuring tape, a mirror, and a friend to help are all you need. Measure over a well-fitted shirt or close-fitting clothes — not over a loose kurta or jacket. Keep the tape snug but not tight; you should be able to slide one finger underneath.

Upper Body

ChestAround the fullest part of the chest, tape parallel to the floor, arms relaxed at your sides.
WaistAround the natural waistline — usually just above the belly button, where you bend to the side.
ShoulderFrom the edge of one shoulder bone to the other, across the back.
Sleeve LengthFrom the shoulder edge, down the outside of the arm, to the wrist bone — elbow slightly bent.
CollarAround the base of the neck, where a shirt collar would sit — snug, add half an inch for comfort.

Length & Lower Body

Garment LengthFrom the base of the neck (back) straight down to where you want the hem to fall — ask a friend to mark it while you stand naturally.
HipAround the fullest part of the hips/seat, about 8 inches below your natural waist.
InseamFrom the crotch straight down to the ankle bone, along the inside of the leg — easiest measured on a well-fitting existing pant.

A few tips that make the biggest difference

  • Stand naturally — don't suck in your stomach or puff out your chest. The garment is for how you actually stand.
  • Take every measurement twice and use the average if the two readings differ.
  • If you're between two sizes, go with the larger one — it's easier for us to take a garment in slightly than let it out.
  • Not confident measuring alone? Every garment type's configurator also lets you save these numbers to your profile once, so you only measure yourself one time.
